I continue to work on my writing and I am making progress on some new chapters that I will be making available as soon as they are ready. I am also working on the sequel to
The Last of His Kind and making good progress with it. I'm not going to be positing this story anywhere until it is finished though and in fact that is going to be my new policy on publication of my writing from now on. Probably I will publish it first in the Amazon Kindle Store and then in other places. Even if you don't have a Kindle you can still read the books for it using their free
Kindle Reader for the PC .
I really like my new MacBook Pro and I just discovered that I can also make the thing dual boot Windows as well as Mac. Basically they already have a tool to split the partition on the drive and then install Windows on the new partition split off from the old one. Of course I will have to provide my own copy of Windows but since I already have a lot of those that part isn't a problem. I haven't decided to do this yet but I have to admit that I'm tempted.
It seems that ebooks and ebook readers are starting to take off as a product class, though I am not sure how long the increasing quantity of different book readers will last. I think the time will come when they will have to consolidate into a smaller number of mutually compatible devices and probably become commodities so far as the hardware is concerned. But it's actually not the reader itself that is important, it's the ebook stores associated with them that are important. The associated book store makes it easy for the users to buy books and download them to their readers, in my view that is actually much easier than going to a physical book store.
